As for the title:
'Unlike Balaam, a wise man can even take instruction from a donkey'

How long has it been since you have challenged your own thinking? If I ruled the universe, this would be a mandatory exercise for everyone professing faith.

 Do you only read, listen, and attend influences that just buttress what you have thought were orthodox thinking and philosophies? I am of the opinion that if we are not sometimes jolted and provoked to think by other beliefs, then we have come to a dead place in our growth, and are not loving God with all our mind.

Please, if you consider what is said here to be in error, do not hesitate to make it known to me.  But then let us communicate as stewards of God's love.

Note: Though I love to write, I make no claim to be a writer. I sincerely appreciate any corrections that may make what I say more like 'the king's English'.
